Chimney
Fireplace, insert and stove installation done to spec
Wood, gas and pellet appliances, vented the way the manufacturer intended, by NFI and CSIA certified installers serving Springdale and Northwest Arkansas.
Chapter 01
Where fireplace installs go wrong
A fireplace or stove is only as safe as its venting. The failures we see trace back to the same short list: the wrong pipe or liner for the appliance, clearances to wood framing that were never checked, a chimney that cannot pull a proper draft, or a connection made without reading the manufacturer's instructions.
Those mistakes do not always show up on day one. A poor draft can make a new insert smoke the room, and an improper installation can void the warranty on a brand new unit. Fixing it later usually means tearing out finished work.
Proper installation protects three things at once: safety, a clean draft and your warranty. Getting it right the first time is the whole job.

What Top Hat installs, and how
We supply and install factory built wood, gas and pellet fireplaces, wood, gas and pellet inserts, freestanding stoves, and gas log sets in both vented and vent free styles. The crew also builds chimney systems, installs liners, and handles venting system and direct vent pipe installation and repair, so one team covers the appliance and everything above it.
Our installers are NFI certified and CSIA certified, and each system goes in to manufacturer specifications and national fire safety standards. Top Hat has been working on chimneys out of its Springdale shop since 1983, and that experience shows up in the small calls: where a pipe runs, how a liner is sized, how the connection is sealed.
Not sure which appliance fits? We help you match the heating solution to your space, your fuel preference and your efficiency goals. Call (479) 751-0432 and talk it through with the shop.
Chapter 03
Living with the new fire
An insert is the usual upgrade for an old open fireplace. It improves efficiency, reduces heat loss and eliminates downdrafts, and your existing fireplace keeps its look. A freestanding stove suits a home with no masonry chimney at all, since it can vent through the roof or the wall.
Gas logs give you the look of real wood without the splitting and stacking, and no major structural changes are needed. Pick vented for the more realistic flame, or vent free where the setup calls for it.
After the install, follow the manufacturer's break-in instructions on the first few fires, and schedule an annual inspection so the venting stays sound. If you burn wood, add a regular chimney sweep to the routine.

Putting an insert into an older fireplace? Have the flue checked first with a chimney inspection, and if the masonry needs work, our chimney repairs come before the new appliance goes in. Once you are burning, regular chimney sweeping keeps the system clean.
